Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship

As a brand with heritage, which dates back to 1936, the history, knowledge, and traditions are embedded in Królik’s DNA and savoir-faire.

step one

Pressing

We use multiple traditional methods to shape tiles with deep relief patterns and textured surfaces. Hand moulding involves pressing clay into a plaster mould. Press moulding involves lowering a wooden press onto a block of the clay to imprint the shape.

step two

Modeling

Each piece is born with the designer’s original idea. Our master craftsmen, who have an average of 15 -20 years experience, transform this vision into form: by hand, or with the help of an advanced 3D program for sculptors. The tiles are milled and finished by hand before the mold is created. This hand-carved piece becomes the basis for the tile mould: a process characterized by extreme precision, extensive prototyping, and refinement of the smallest details.

step three

Slip casting

Our master craftsmen, who have an average of 15 -20 years experience, transform this vision into form: by hand, or with the help of an advanced 3D program for sculptors. The tiles are milled and finished by hand before the mold is created. step four

Richly-coloured
custom glazes

After bisque firing, Królik bas reliefs sculptures, pocket vases, sconces, and art tiles are carefully painted by hand. Our skilled artisans apply intricate detailing with richly pigmented glazes, or liquid 24 karat gold, before the pieces are returned to the kiln for a final glost firing.

step five

Hand-applied glazes

step six

Hand finishing

After bisque firing, Królik bas reliefs sculptures, pocket vases, sconces, and art tiles are carefully painted by hand. Our skilled artisans apply intricate detailing with richly pigmented glazes, or liquid 24 karat gold, before the pieces are returned to the kiln for a final glost firing.

step seven

Double firing

Kiln for firing ceramics. Our tiles are meticulously prepared for firing. The molds are crafted with such precision that the tiles retain their perfect shape after firing. They never deform, consistently meeting the highest standards of quality.
